I. General

This dryer is used for rapid drying when determining the water content of sand samples (original second, type second and core sand). It utilizes infrared bulb radiation heat energy to make the water in the sand samples evaporate rapidly, and then weighs them with balance to calculate the water content of the sand samples. Its structure mainly consists of shell, infrared bulb, timer, switch, indicator and other parts.

III. Use and adjustment

1. Pour the weighed sand sample 50±0.01g into the sand disk 10 and spread it evenly. 2.

2. Place the sand tray with the sand sample inside the instrument. 3.

3. Turn on the power switch 4, the indicator light 5 on. 4.

4. According to the time required for drying, respectively adjust the timer screw, infrared light bulb is working. 5.

5. After drying the sand sample (about 6 to 10 minutes), the infrared bulb 6 goes out by itself.

Remove the sand sample and leave it to cool (to prevent moisture absorption), pour it into a glass dish, then weigh it with a balance, accurate to 0.01 grams, and calculate its moisture content.

IV. Repair and maintenance

1. Pay attention to whether the circuit is insulated.

2. Turn off the power after each day, wipe the dust and sand particles from the instrument and the sand bearing disk. 3.

3. When not in use, cover with plastic film to prevent dust. 4.

4. Do not reverse the timer screw to prevent damage and affect the accuracy of timing.
